    About Us

Hello, have you eaten yet?  We are Ty and Annie, saying “Hi!” from sunny San Diego.  We are so fortunate to call this beautiful city our home along with our two daughters.  Our story began with a promise to make a humble plate of fried rice.  Decades later, our love of food continues to be the driving force behind our bond and this blog.

We started The Seasoned Wok as a way to document and share the many recipes we’ve collected over the years, whether it be from family, our travels or new creations.  We learned the hard way when treasured recipes were lost along with lost loved ones and we didn’t want history to repeat itself for our girls.

We love to cook and we love to eat.  Holidays, birthdays and celebrations are always centered around food in our household.  It’s the best way to connect and to share experiences with one another.  A phone call to loved ones is always greeted with, “Have you eaten yet?” no matter the time of day.

Together with Ty’s Chinese/Vietnamese influence and Annie’s Taiwanese/Japanese background, our recipes naturally consist mostly of Asian food.  Recipes passed down from our parents often had little to no measurements.  It was always, “A little of this and a little of that” and the end result was never as good as Mom’s.  Documenting these recipes meant breaking out measuring spoons and measuring cups so our daughters (and you) wouldn’t have to endure the trials and errors (and wasted food) we went through.

Thank you for visiting our site. If you have a question regarding a specific recipe, ask in the comments section of the recipe post. The other readers can benefit from your questions and answers. Join the discussion, we always do.

If you have any other questions, feel free to fill out the form below. We would love to hear from you!

    Thank you!
